Article body
PFC Levski Sofia's Bulgarian international defender Ilian Stoyanov has finally signed a new deal with the club.
Successful negotiations
With his current contract expiring at the end of the season, Stoyanov's future with Levski had been in doubt after initial talks over a new one had proved unsuccessful. However, club managing directors Konstantin Bazhdekov and Nasko Sirakov have now persuaded Stoyanov to sign a new agreement, which will keep him at Levski until June 2005.
'I feel happy'
"I am pleased that the negotiations with the club are finally over," said the 26-year-old Stoyanov after signing his new contract. "I feel happy at Levski and I want to help the club win the championship again and enter the [UEFA] Champions League group stage."
Levski lover
Stoyanov joined the reigning Bulgarian champions in 2000 from FC Velbazhd 1919 Kyustendil and subsequently earned ten caps for Bulgaria. He has frequently confirmed his love for Levski despite beginning his career at their fierce city rivals PFC CSKA Sofia.
