Paramot injury dents title hopes

Members

One of the pillars of OGC Nice's defence, Noé Pamarot has been ruled out for a month with a thigh injury.

OGC Nice defender Noé Pamarot will be out of action for up to a month after damaging his thigh.

Torn muscle
The 23-year-old suffered a torn muscle in his right thigh in Saturday's 2-2 home draw against FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. According to Nice's medical staff, Pamarot will be on the sidelines for "three to four weeks".

Defensive pillar
Pamarot, who joined Nice in 1999, is one of the defensive pillars of a side who have proved Ligue 1's surprise package this season. Indeed, Nice have the equal best defensive record in the division, having conceded just 21 goals this term.

Blow for Rohr
The injury is a big blow for coach Gernot Rohr, whose side previously led Ligue 1 for 14 weeks. Now third, Nice remain in the hunt for both the title and a place in the 2003/04 UEFA Champions League.
