Double promotion
Lambie, who has guided the Glasgow side from the Second Division to eighth place in the top flight in the space of four seasons, is expected to stay on as director of football - allowing Collins to take charge of first-team matters.
Second time lucky
Collins has been assistant to the flamboyant Lambie since 1984. The pair came together at Hamilton Academical FC, and are in their second spell at Partick's Firhill Park after leading Falkirk FC in the mid-1990s.
Chance to impress
Lambie, 60, has decided it is time to move into the background and give Collins a chance to show his skills. Partick are likely to announce the new management structure on Tuesday when former Airdrieonians FC and Falkirk coach Bobby McCulley will be brought on board to assist Collins.
