Elber sees off Leverkusen

Brazilian forward Giovane Elber scored twice as FC Bayern München booked a place in the German Cup final.

Double strike
Elber hit two goals inside a minute to send Ottmar Hitzfeld's side into a final showdown against 1. FC Kaiserslautern at Berlin's Olympiastadion on 31 May. With the scores tied at 1-1, Elber left Leverkusen goalkeeper Hans-Jörg Butt floundering with a stunning volley on 57 minutes before sealing victory with a cool finish moments later.

Ballack breakthrough
Leverkusen had struggled to contain the No9 all evening, although it was the former BayArena favourite Michael Ballack, and not the Brazilian, who put Bayern ahead on the half-hour mark.

Leverkusen level
To their credit, Leverkusen silenced the Munich crowd by drawing level at the start of the second half. German international Carsten Ramelow played a one-two with França before slotting past Oliver Kahn. Kaiserslautern beat SV Werder Bremen in the other semi-final on Tuesday night.
