Five Fenerbahçe SK players have been told to look for new clubs after a dispute with coach Oguz Çetin.
Major changes
With his side lying in fourth place in the table, 14 points adrift of table-topping Besiktas JK, Çetin has relegated five players from the first-team squad and told them that he will not be working with them next season.
International players
Turkish international players Ogün Temizkanoglu and Abdullah Ercan, midfield players Yusuf Simsek and Ali Akdeniz as well as reserve goalkeeper Oguz Daglaroglu have all been separated off from the main squad.
'Unprofessional behaviour'
"The unprofessional behaviour of these players had an effect on this decision as well as their insufficient performance," said club spokesman Atilla Kiyat, adding that Çetin had “no intention of working with those players next season and advised the dropped players to search for a new club for next season".
Separate arrangements
The dramatic move gave a clear indication that the Fenerbahçe board intended to persevere with Çetin next season. In the meantime, Kiyat said that special training sessions had been arranged for the dropped players. "They will be assigned a coach and work separately from the team,” he said.
