Romanian Adrian Ursea has been named coach of Servette FC until the end of the season.
Aeschlimann statement
The 35-year-old was until now assistant coach at the Geneva club. "After examining the candidates, the management committee have appointed Adrian Ursea until 31 May 2003," director general Pierre Aeschlimann said in a statement. "This allows the management committee to prepare for next season and examine what the various possibilities, both internal and external, can offer Servette."
Schnyder to assist
Ursea was assistant to former coach Lucien Favre and then Roberto Morinini, who took over at the start of the current season before being dismissed at the beginning of the week. Ursea will be assisted by former Servette captain Marc Schnyder, a member of the management committee.
New stadium
Last Sunday Servette drew 1-1 with BSC Young Boys as the club's new Stade de Genève was opened in front of a sell-out 30,000 crowd.
