Galatasaray SK and Trabzonspor have been punished for crowd trouble during Turkish Super League matches.

The Professional Football Discipline Committee of the Turkish Football Association (TFF) have punished Galatasaray SK and Trabzonspor for crowd trouble during Turkish Super League matches.

Derby trouble
Galatasaray will have to play this week's match against Elazigspor behind closed doors and pay a fine of €1,400 after fans threw dangerous materials such as bottles on to the pitch during the derby match against Fenerbahçe SK two weeks ago.

Appeal rejected
Second-placed Galatasaray, who trail leaders Besiktas JK by three points at present, appealed against the decision but their objections were rejected by the committee.

Trabzonspor punished
Meanwhile, Trabzonspor were punished for similar events during a game against Besiktas. Trabzonspor's Avni Aker stadium will be closed for this week's game against Bursaspor match. The match will now be played in Samsun. Trabzonspor, currently fifth in the table, were also fined €600.
