Article body
KS Amica Wronki agreed a deal on Monday which will see them part company with coach Miroslaw Jablonski.
Deal agreed
The club have agreed a deal with Jablonski which will see him leave the club and are in the process of agreeing terms with his predecessor at the club, Stefan Majewski, who gave way to Jablonski in 2002. Majewski spent the last year working as assistant to Zbigniew Boniek as coach of the Polish national side until Boniek stepped down.
High hopes
Amica had high hopes for the 2002/03 season after winning a place in the UEFA Cup, but after being knocked out 4-2 on aggregate by Málaga CF in the second round, supporters' attention has been focused on the side's league form. Unfortunately for Jablonski, his side struggled to make much of an impact in the Ekstraklasa.
Domestic disappointment
A defeat against second division Polar Wroclaw in the Polish Cup increased the pressure on the coach and after watching Amica surrender a 2-0 lead at home against Wisla Plock on Saturday to earn only their first point in three games since the winter break, the board decided to begin talks with Jablonski about terminating his contract.
Ninth place
Amica currently lie in ninth place in the Ekstraklasa table with 22 points from their 18 league matches. They are just three points above the relegation play-offs.
