Olsson blow for Malmö

Members

Malmö FF's new signing Tomas Olsson will be sidelined for a month with a knee ligament injury.

Bad timing
"The timing of the injury is really bad," the midfielder said. "I don't know how long I will be out for because different people are saying different things, but it will be at least a month."

Ready replacements
Malmö coach Tom Prahl was very pleased with Olsson's performances in pre-season and said: "It's a shame since he's done really well, but we've got other players raring to go. Jörgen Ohlsson and Jon Jönsson are both capable of replacing Olsson."

Key figure
The former IFK Norrköping player, who played 21 games and scored one goal for Norrköping last year, has been a revelation since arriving at Malmö and is one of the reasons why the club have been singled out as favourites for the title.

Surprise favourites
"It's strange that so many people have made us favourites," Prahl said. "Our results so far have not been brilliant. But of course, we should be among the top sides."
