Back to Denmark
The 28-year old Løvenkrands, the older brother of Rangers FC striker Peter, will return to his native country in July having signed a three-year contract. He has joined as a replacement for Esbjerg youngsters Jan Kristiansen and Tommy Bechmann, both of whom are expected to move to bigger clubs before the start of next season.
Quick and adventurous
Esbjerg coach Ove Pedersen was delighted to welcome the experienced striker. "We have almost hand-picked Tommy Løvenkrands, who fits nicely into our team," he said. "He is quick, he is adventurous and he has a good left-footed shot. With him in the squad we will not be as vulnerable if we loose either Tommy Bechmann or Jan Kristiansen in the summer."
Family concerns
The striker was also pleased to announce his return to Denmark, where his new club currently lie sixth in the Superliga. "After three years abroad [my family] want to come back to Denmark because of our two children," he said. "I am looking forward to playing in the Superliga and showing my best side after all the experience I have gained at St Johnstone."
Scottish experience
Løvenkrands joined St Johnstone in 2000 from Akademisk Boldklub, and scored seven goals in 53 games while playing for the Scottish Premier League side.
