Lommel take the lead

Members

KFC Lommelse SK and K. Sint Truidense VV secured one-goal wins in their Belgian Cup semi-final first legs.

Hard work
Lommel beat RAA Louviéroise 3-2 but were made to work hard for the win despite taking the lead five minutes before half-time through former Danish international midfield player Marc Nygaard.

In control
David Brocken doubled the advantage eleven minutes into the second period when the hosts seemed to be in complete control, only for Emmanuel Kenmogne to pull a goal back for La Louvière within three minutes.

Spectacular strike
Brocken then scored his second in the 75th minute to restore his team's two-goal cushion, but in added time substitute Davy Cooreman curled in a spectacular free-kick to give the visitors hope for the return leg, which will be played on 15 April.

Late winner
Meanwhile, Sint-Truiden struggled to capitalise on their dominance against KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen at the Staaien stadium. Désiré M'Bonabucya broke the deadlock three minutes from time, registering from close range to give his side a slender lead to take to Antwerp.
