Ajax collision
The 19-year-old, on loan to Zwolle from Eredivisie rivals SBV Vitesse, was injured in the first half of his current side's recent game against reigning Dutch champions AFC Ajax after a collision with Hatem Trabelsi.
Cruciate injury
Exploratory surgery today confirmed that the youngster has suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury in his right knee, and Van Beukering is not expected to be able to play again for another eight months.
Out on loan
Van Beukering made his Eredivisie debut for Vitesse in 2001 and scored five goals in 35 appearances for the club before joining Zwolle during the winter break. He had scored twice in six games for Zwolle before being injured.
