Ghanaian international Nana Eshun has signed for Georgian Premier League side FC Lokomotivi Tbilisi.

Ghanaian international Nana Eshun has signed for Georgian Premier League side FC Lokomotivi Tbilisi after failing to break into the first team at BV Borussia Dortmund.

Adaptable player
The versatile 20-year-old, who can play both in defence and midfield, has signed an initial six-month contract with an option for a further extension. A regular in Dortmund's amateur team, Eshun said of his time in Germany: "I had a great chance to play for Borussia's first team, but an unlucky injury put me down the pecking order there."

'Chances increased'
Eshun, who played for Bofoakwa Tano, Agona Swedru All Blacks and Accra Great Olympics in his home country, added: "I am hoping that the best is yet to come in my career." Capped for the first time in January 2001, Eshun could feel the burden of expectation at Lokomotivi. The club's coach, Luis Zacharias, said: "Our chances in the battle for the title have increased with [the] Ghanian international joining the squad."

Further signings
Meanwhile, midfield player Vladimir Kakashvili has joined on loan from FC Lokomotiv Moskva until the end of the season. Merab Dzodzuashvili will also be available for selection after the striker was recalled from a loan spell at FC Dila Gori.
