Bulgarian Premier League leaders PFC CSKA Sofia were awarded a 3-0 win at PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv after the home side failed to show up for the match.
Match moved
Crowd trouble marred Plovdiv's Bulgarian Cup quarter-final against PFC Levski Sofia on Tuesday, March 4, and the Bulgarian Football Union ruled that the match against CSKA would be played at the Samokov stadium. However, Plovdiv were unhappy both at the match being moved, and the chosen stadium, and refused to play. CSKA coach Stoycho Mladenov said: "I am definitely not happy, because it is much better to win on the pitch, than off the pitch. I hoped until the last minute that Plovdiv would arrive, so that we could play the match."
New coach's delight
Levski remain within seven points of the unbeaten leaders thanks to a 6-0 win against struggling PFC Rilski Sportist Samokov. New Levski coach Georgi Todorov had the perfect start to his reign as Georgi Chilikov and Garba Lawal both scored twice and Dimitar Telkiyski added a free-kick after an own goal had opened the scoring, Petar Adzhov also missing a penalty for the beaten side.
Slavia third
PFC Litex Lovech lost ground on the leaders as they were held 0-0 by PFC Marek Dupnitza. Litex had Paul Adadou was sent off after 58th minutes, and although they held on to gain a point, PFC Slavia Sofia took over third place after defeating PFC Botev Plovdiv 4-0 at home.
Late goals
PFC Cherno More Varna overtook PFC Naftex Burgas to move fifth after defeating them 3-1 at home, while PFC Dobrudzha Dobrich achieved their second win of the championship as they defeated PFC Lokomotiv Sofia 1-0 and two late goals earned PFC Spartak Varna 2-1 away win against PFC Chernomorets Burgas.
