FC Torpedo Kutaisi began the championship play-off season with a 1-0 win against FC Dinamo Tbilisi.

Champions FC Torpedo Kutaisi were quickly into their stride as the Georgian Premier League season resumed after its winter break, securing a narrow 1-0 home victory against FC Dinamo Tbilisi.

Gamezardashvili in action
David Gamezardashvili scored the decisive goal after 54 minutes, after Shota Babunashvili's cross had been flicked on by Andriy Poroshin. However, Gamezardashvili was dismissed five minutes later, along with Dinamo’s Vladimir Akhalaia, but the home side held on to secure three points which moved them top of the championship play-off group, one point ahead of their opponents.

Lokomotivi in form
FC Lokomotivi Tbilisi also began impressively, recording a resounding 6-0 victory at FC Kolkheti-1913 Poti, with Georgian Under-21 midfield player David Siradze and Ghanian new signing Nana Eshun each scoring twice, and Lasha Salukhvadze and Mihail Soselia added the other goals.

Single-goal success
Meanwhile, FC WIT Georgia Tbilisi secured a narrow 1-0 win at FC Sioni Bolnisi thanks to Levan Melkadze’s 16th goal of the season.

Relegation games
In the relegation play-off group, FC Dila Gori inflicted a 2-0 defeat on FC Metalurgi Zestaponi, while FC Merani-91 Tbilisi suffered a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of FC Dinamo Batumi 1-0 and the game between FC Milani Tsnori and FC Gorda 2000 Rustavi ended scoreless.
