Olimpija slip up
NK Olimpija Ljubljana, who had been level on points with Publikum at the start of play, slipped to a 3-1 defeat at home to NK Primorje and dropped to second place.
Two for Koren
Publikum's win was sealed by goals in either half from Robert Koren, who scored after 33 and 90 minutes, adding to Vladislav Lungu's 16th-minute opener with Dejan Robnik scoring the third goal after 67 minutes.
First-half lead
Meanwhile, Primorje took a 2-0 lead at Olimpija with two goals in three first-half minutes, as Marko Vogrič opened the scoring with a 33rd-minute penalty before Uroš Vidmar doubled the lead. Olimija pulled a goal back six minutes later with a Marko Kmetec penalty, but were unable to find an equaliser and Vogrič restored the away side's two-goal cushion in the 72nd minute
Maribor move third
NK Maribor moved into third place in the table with a hard-earned 2-1 win at lowly NK Rudar Velenje despite falling behind to Ales Smon's opening goal a minute before the break. However, Igor Mostarlic equalised six minutes into the second half, before Bostjan Znuderl scored the winning goal ten minutes from time.
Away win
Elsewhere, NK Šmartno won 1-0 at NK Koper with a last-minute winner from Nino Kovačić, while struggling NK Gorica and NK Ljubljana drew 1-1. The visitors went ahead a minute into the second half through Zoran Željković but Mladen Kovačević equalised 25 minutes from time.
