It has been confirmed that manager Jean Tigana will leave Premiership club Fulham FC in the summer.

'Many achievements'
In a letter to the Frenchman quoted on the club's official website, Fulham chairman Mohamed Al Fayed said: "I have never doubted your abilities as a coach and, equally, do recognise that there have been many achievements during your time at the club of which you can rightly be proud.

Disappointing position
"Obviously, our position in the Premier League both this year and last year has been disappointing, particularly given the degree of investment and resources provided, and I am sure you would be the first to agree."

Early success
A former France international and coach of Olympique Lyonnais and AS Monaco FC, Tigana replaced Paul Bracewell as manager of Fulham in July 2000. He led them from the First Division to the Premiership at the first attempt where they finished 13th in their first season back in the top flight, the position they occupy this season with seven games of the season remaining.

Backroom staff out
Assistant manager Christian Damiano and fitness coach Roger Propos have also been told that their contracts will not be renewed.
