FC København's lead in the Danish Super League was cut to six points following a 2-0 defeat at Odense BK after the end of the winter break.

Home side dominate
Odense dominated the first half of a highly entertaining match and on 42 minutes Steffen Højer took full advantage of a mistimed Martin Albrechtsen backpass. After the interval, Odense continued to press forward, and in the 65th minute the home side were rewarded when Thomas Lindrup made it 2-0 with an astonishing strike from well outside the penalty area. His fellow striker Mwape Miti was sent off shortly afterwards for a late challenge on Albrechtsen.

Champions win
Reigning champions Brøndby IF beat Viborg FF 2-1 to keep theirtitle hopes alive. Mattias Jonson scored after a splendid pass from Peter Foldgast on 44 minutes to give them the lead, and just after the hour Peter Foldgast doubled the lead. Michael Gravgaard pulled one back seven minutes from time with an excellent volley.

Deserved victory
FC Midtjylland moved into third place after a well-deserved 2-0 win against Esbjerg fB. Frank Kristensen scored for Midtjylland after 38 minutes, and midway through the second half captain Thomas Thomasberg decided the match from the penalty spot.

Comeback draw
Elsewhere, Køge BK came from behind to draw 1-1 with fourth-placed Aalborg BK. Sunday's game between Farum and AGF Århus was postponed due to a frozen pitch. Silkeborg IF earned three valuable points as they beat Akademisk Boldklub 3-1. Goals from Henrik Schnedler, Muhammed Akinci and Bo Nielsen did the damage while Jesper Sørensen scored for AB.
