Besiktas JK secured a remarkable 7-3 success against Göztepe to maintain their comfortable lead.

Turkish Super League leaders Besiktas JK secured a remarkable 7-3 success against Göztepe to maintain their comfortable advantage at the top of the table.

Early goals
The home side took the lead after just two minutes, when Göztepe midfield player Cumhur Bozaci put the ball into his own net, and it was 2-0 eight minutes later as Kaan Dobra doubled the lead. However, Dobra then scored an own goal of his own to give the visitors hope, and it was 2-2 almost immediately as Ercan Agaçe levelled after 26 minutes.

Lead restored
Goals from Yasin Sülün and Daniel Pancu restored Besiktas's two-goal advantage, and although Alp Küçükvardar made it 4-3 in the 45th minute, second-half strikes from Serdar Topraktepe, Pascal Nouma and Ilhan Mansiz rounded off a fantastic win for the home team.

Trabzonspor powerless
Veysel Cihan's 50th-minute winner gave third-placed Gençlerbirligi SK a 2-1 victory against Trabzonspor on Saturday. Despite taking the lead on 14 minutes through Hüseyin Çimsir's penalty, Trabzonspor were powerless to prevent Souleymane Youla equalising for Gençlerbirligi seven minutes before half-time - and Veysel Cihan's goal just after the break secured all three points.

Tough test
Galatasaray SK made hard work of beating bottom club Kocaelispor, but Ümit Karan's 54th-minute header from Haim Revivo’s corner earned them a 1-0 win while Altay GK and Gaziantepspor drew 0-0.

Blunder seals it
Istanbulspor AS put their indifferent form behind them with a 2-1 success against Bursaspor. Cenk Isler's 47th-minute penalty put them ahead but Fatim Seh equalised nine minutes later and the game seemed to be heading for a 1-1 draw. However, two minutes from time Bursaspor defender Erkan Özbey headed the ball past his goalkeeper Radoslaw Majdan an into the net to hand Istanbulspor all three points.

Red cards
Three Malatyaspor players were sent off as they lost 2-0 to Fenerbahçe SK on Friday. Serhiy Rebrov opened the scoring inside 60 seconds and Yusuf Simsek's 79th-minute goal doubled the lead - although the game was marred by the red cards shown to Muharrem Uz, Tolga Seyhan and Klodian Duro.

Fine form
Samsunspor's positive progress continued as they defeated Diyarbakirspor 3-1. Junior gave Samsunspor the lead after 16 minutes and Serkan Aykut's two goals meant Deniz Kolgu goal was little more than consolation for the away team.

Away win
Meanwhile, MKE Ankaragücü won 2-0 away at Adanaspor, who remained second bottom in the standings after Hakan Keles scored a goal either side of half-time to secure three points for the away team, while Adanaspor had to play the last 20 minutes with ten men following the dismissal of Ümit Aydin.

Denizlispor win
Denizlispor were also 2-0 winners, with goals from Henrich Bencik and Mustafa Özkan in either half securing the success.
