Austrian Bundesliga leaders FK Austria Wien slipped to a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to second-placed SV Pasching.
Gap narrowed
The gap between the top two is still ten points, but the win kept Pasching’s slim hopes of claiming the championship alive. George Datoru’s goal after 57 minutes secured a crucial win for the away side.
Surprise win
At the other end of the table, Schwarz-Weiss Bregenz moved off the bottom with only their fifth win of the season at SV Ried. The away side scored two goals in two first-half minutes from Laszlo Klausz and Dietmar Berchtold, before Emmanuel Akwuegbu established a three-goal cushion ten minutes from time, with Željko Radović scoring a consolation goal for the home team two minutes from the end.
Admira lose lead
VfB Admira Wacker Mödling replaced Bregenz on the bottom after they failed to hold a one-goal lead and slipped to a 2-1 defeat at third-placed SK Sturm Graz. Markus Katzer gave Admira the lead after 52 minutes, but Mario Haas levelled scores nine minutes later before Imre Szabics completed Sturm’s comeback with the winning goal with seven minutes left.
Early winner
Carlos Juan Zuleta's fifth-minute goal gave FC Kärnten a 1-0 win against SK Rapid Wien, while Grazer AK were held to a 1-1 draw at SV Austria Salzburg.
