Serbia and Montenegro round-up: Partizan dismiss challengers

FK Partizan dominance of the Prva Savezna Liga continued as they beat previous closest challengers FK Zeleznik 3-1 in a game played behind closed doors.

The game was not staged in public for security reasons with the country still in a state of emergency following the recent assassination of Serbian prime minister Zoran Djindjic, but the lack of home support did not worry Partizan, who extended their lead to 15 points. Zvonimir Vukic put Partizan ahead on 13 minutes and a quarter-hour later the same player volleyed his second goal. Ivica Iliev made it 3-0 five minutes into the second half to ensure Branislav Mikic's free-kick ten minutes from time was only a consolation as his side fell to fourth from second.

Bottom side beaten
OFK Beograd climbed into the top three as they came from behind to beat bottom-placed FK Radnicki Niš 2-1. Vladimir Milenkovic put the visitors in front on 31 minutes but Miljan Mrdakovic equalised early in the second half and the same player won the game in added time to take his personal tally for the season to a league-leading 14.

Drincic winner
FK Vojvodina moved up to fifth as they edged past FK Sutjeska 1-0 despite the sending off of young captain Milan Stepanov, the winner coming in the 20th minute from striker Zdravko Drincic as FK Zeta lost ground on the top six with a 0-0 draw against FK Hajduk Kula.

Rudar rise
FK Rudar Pljevlja moved out of the bottom two as they drew 1-1 with FK Cukaricki, while FK Radnicki Obrenovac visit to FK Obilic and FK Zemun's match against FK Sartid finished in the same score. FK Javor Ivanjica beat FK Rad 1-0.
