Heavy defeats
Velez went down 1-0 at NK Jedinstvo on Saturday in their first game back after the winter break, leaving the Mostar side in relegation trouble in 19th place in the table. That they then lost 10-0 against FK Leotar in a Bosnia-Herzegovnian Cup quarter-final tie underlined the size of the task facing Arapović.
Irresistible offer
"I could not refuse the offer from Velez - to try and help one of the best known clubs in Bosnia. The club are in a difficult position, but I am confident we will manage to stay in the top flight," the coach said.
Previous experience
Arapović, one of the Premier League's most experienced trainers, is regarded as the last chance for Velez. A former coach of FK Celik, FK Rudar Ugljevik and FK Buducnost Banovici, he is also in charge of the Bosnia B team.
