FC Dinamo Bucharesti secured qualification to the semi-finals of the Romanian Cup in dramatic fashion, with a 92nd-minute equaliser against FC Farul Constanta.
Trailing at home
Despite holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, Dinamo found themselves trailing 2-1 at home deep into injury time, but were rewarded with a penalty after Constanta's Tiberiu Balan was adjudged to have handled in the area. Ionel Danciulescu stepped up to convert the resulting penalty kick.
Level terms
Dinamo opened the scoring after ten minutes through a Flavius Stoican shot from the edge of the penalty area. The visitors were on level terms on 28 minutes when Vasile Cristocea scored from the penalty spot and then extended their lead on 78 minutes with a goal from substitute Daniel Munteanu.
Powerful volley
FC National Bucharesti, already holding a 4-0 lead from their first leg home tie, eased past second division side CFR Ecomax Cluji 1-0 in the return game. The only goal came on nine minutes when Sergiu Radu volleyed a powerful shot into the net. The home side did however, hit the crossbar on two occasions.
Craciun breaks deadlock
Astra Ploiesti also recorded a 1-0 victory over another second division side Politehnica Unirea Iasi, having won their away leg 2-1. Cristian Craciun met a Gyula Borbely cross on 60 minutes to break the deadlock. Politehnica then had Valentin Vaduva dismissed in the 82nd minute.
Few highlights
FC Arges-Dacia Pitesti drew 0-0 at FCM Bacau after winning the first leg 5-1. In a game of few highlights the best chance fell to Bacau defender Vasile Ardeleanu whose shot came back off the crossbar. The all-Divizia A semi-finals will take place over two legs, on 23 April and 14 May, with the final on 31 May.
