Norway round-up: Sogndal salvage success

Joint-leaders Sogndal IL came from behind to record a 3-1 win against Tromsø IL on Saturday, their third successive Tippeligaen victory.

Opener eclipsed
Morten Gamst Pedersen's opener for the visitors was eclipsed by strikes from Christian Kalvenes, Alexander Ødegaard and veteran Rune Buer Johansen, keeping Sogndal top of the table.

Brattback on target
Rosenborg BK went top on goal difference on Sunday evening after registering a 3-0 victory against SFK Lyn in Oslo. The deadlock remained unbroken until two minutes before half-time, when former Celtic FC striker Harald Brattbakk found the net - and second-half goals from Christer George, a smart lob, and Fredrik Winsnes sealed the win.

Happy Hareide
The winning margin could have been far greater but Rosenborg coach Åge Hareide said: "You can't expect us to score on every chance - I am happy with the goals we got."

Hoset off
Elsewhere, last week's hat-trick hero Magne Hoset limped from the field within minutes of Molde FK's game at FK Bodø/Glimt, who went on to record a 2-0 win.

Pointless Bryne
Bryne FK are still searching for their first points of the season, despite taking the lead against Odds BK through Kim Hellesund's long-range beauty. Three goals from the home side left Odds with too steep a mountain to climb and they had to settle for a 3-2 defeat.

New boys slip
Elsewhere, newly promoted Aalesund FK let slip a three-goal half-time lead as they drew 3-3 with SK Brann while Lillestrøm SK were beaten 2-0 by Stabæk IF and Erik Nevland scored one of the goals as Viking FK recorded a 2-0 win against Vålerenga Fotball.
