Shin problem
The 25-year-old defender sustained a shin injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw with 1. FC Kaiserslautern, a result which left Bochum just two points above the Bundesliga relegation zone in 14th place. Fahrenhorst was forced off the field after just seven minutes following a strong challenge by Kaiserslautern's Christian Timm.
Season in doubt
Bochum team doctor Karl-Heinz Bauer travelled to hospital with the player and later said that the injury would likely force Fahrenhorst to miss the last seven matches of the season.
