Article body
PFC CSKA Sofia bounced back from two home defeats in a week to end a topsy-turvy seven days with a 2-0 win at PFC Marek Dupnista.
Victory needed
Having lost in the league to PFC Cherno More Varna last weekend and then in the Bulgarian Cup semi-finals to PFC Levski Sofia on Wednesday, CSKA needed victory, not least as they will not be playing their next home match at their Bulgarska Armia stadium due to crowd trouble against Levski. However, goals from Emil Gargorov in the first half and Velizar Dimitrov on the hour ensured CSKA ended the week on a high.
Levski held
CSKA's lead is now up to six points as Levski, without injured striker Georgi Chilikov, were held 0-0 by resilient PFC Spartak Varna for their first goalless league game at the Georgi Asparuhov stadium since 1999.
Comfortable Litex
PFC Litex Lovech are up to third place thanks to a 5-2 win against bottom side PFC Rilski Sportist Samokov. Zhivko Zhelev, switched from the Litex defence to attack for the last three games, scored a hat-trick to take his tally for those matches to six.
Derby draw
PFC Slavia Sofia fell below Litex as they were held 1-1 at home by PFC Lokomotiv Sofia. Georgi Vladimirov put Slavia ahead on seven minutes, but Boiko Velichkov levelled six minutes after the break to ensure a share of the derby spoils.
