First-half goals
Thomas Flogel put the home side ahead on 13 minutes and Vladimir Janocko wrapped up the points on the stroke of half-time. Austria are now 16 points clear of Grazer AK and SV Pasching with seven games to go, and victory at SK Sturm Graz next Tuesday combined with away defeats the next day for GAK at SK Rapid Wien and Pasching against Schwarz-Weiss Bregenz would confirm them as champions.
GAK lose ground
Second-placed GAK lost ground as they were held 1-1 by relegation-threatened VfB Admira Wacker Mödling. Nikola Milinkovic put GAK ahead on nine minutes, but they could not add to their tally and Fernando Troyanski levelled in the 57th minute.
Chance for Pasching
Pasching moved level on points with GAK in the race for the second UEFA Champions League place as they beat Rapid 3-0. Eduard Glieder broke the deadlock on eight minutes, Dragan Šarac added a second just after half-time and Glieder completed the victory seven minutes from the end.
Defeat costly for Bregenz
Bregenz are now three points adrift of Admira in the race to avoid relegation as they lost 4-1 to SV Austria Salzburg. Heimo Pfeifenberger scored twice with Roman Szewczyk and Thomas Eder adding the others for Salzburg. Axel Lawaree claimed a consolation goal 23 minutes from the end.
