Moldova round-up: Sheriff nearly there

FC Sheriff Tiraspol have gone ten points clear at the top of the table after a 2-0 derby victory against FC Tiraspol.

Dadu double
Former Tiraspol player Serghey Dadu scored both goals for Sheriff, finding the net in the eleventh and 33rd minutes. As well as aiding his side’s title challenge, Dadu, with 15 goals this season, is on track to take the top scorers’ crown.

Confidence gained
Sheriff’s success was boosted by defeat to nearest rivals FC Zimbru Chisinau who lost 1-0 against FC Nistru Otaci, the only goal coming from Iulian Bursic in the 35th minute. Nistru’s win will give them confidence ahead of meeting Zimbru in the Moldovan Cup final next month. Finally, the match between FC Dacia Chisinau and FC Agro Chisinau ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
