Wisla Kraków returned to the summit of the Polish First Division but only after edging out bottom side Pogon Szczecin 1-0.

Uche winner
Pogon lost 9-0 at KS Górnik Zabrze last week, but defended stoutly against Wisla, and only Nigerian midfield player Kalu Uche was able to break the deadlock with a header seven minutes from the end.

Katowice beaten
But that result was enough to take Wisla to the top as Zaglebie Lubin surprisingly defeated Dospel Katowice 2-0. Brasilia and Grzegorz Nicinski scored the goals in the first nine minutes - both close-range efforts set up by Arkadiusz Klimek.

Groclin on form
Third-placed Odra Wodzislaw missed their chance to remain level on points with the new leaders as they were beaten 3-0 by KS Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski. The side in fourth went ahead on 39 minutes through Igor Koziol, with Andrzej Niedzielan scoring his first goal for Groclin on the hour mark with an opportunist effort and Tomasz Wieszczycki's header clinching the win seven minutes from time.

Svitlica treble
Stanko Svitlica's hat-trick helped Legia Warszawa to a 6-0 win against lowly KSZO Ostrowiec, while KKS Lech Poznan were trailing 1-0 to Widzew Lódz on 77 minutes - only to score twice within 120 seconds, Bartosz Slusarski from close range and Piotr Reiss with a shot from outside the box turning the game.

Garbarnia's crucial victory
Elsewhere, Garbarnia Szczakowianka Jaworzno beat fellow strugglers Wisla Plock 2-0, Górnik overcame KS Amica Wronki 1-0, and KS Ruch Chorzów shared the points with KP Polonia Warszawa in a goalless draw.
