Struggling Turkish Super League side Göztepe have sacked their coach Mustafa Fedai.

Struggling Turkish Super League side Göztepe have sacked their coach Mustafa Fedai.

Change needed
The decision came after a string of poor results that has seen the team languishing at the wrong end of the table. "We needed a change at the club, therefore we decided not to continue with Mustafa Fedai," said chairman Feyyaz Gülmen. "Our team have lost last three games and especially our footballers were played as if they lost their spirit."

No replacement yet
Gülmen added that he believed the team needed four wins to avoid relegation and that this would only be achieved under a new coach. He said there was no replacement lined up at the moment. Fedai had been in charge since September when Ali Osman Renklibay left the club.

Slender advantage
However, Göztepe have not won since 16 February when they beat Adanaspor AS 2-1 in Adana. Göztepe are 17th in the table with 21 points, and hold a two-point advantage over last-placed Kocaelispor.
