Switzerland round-up: Basel back in the hunt

FC Basel moved to within two points of Swiss Nationalliga A play-off leaders Grasshopper-Club, following a 3-1 victory against FC Wil 1900.

Double for Huggel
Basel took an early lead as Benjamin Huggel opened the scoring after just three minutes. Julio Hernán Rossi doubled the home side's advantage on 20 minutes and Huggel was on target again on the hour mark to secure the win. Marco Zwyssig scored a late consolation goal.

Champions slip
Grasshoppers allowed a one-goal lead slip in a 1-1 draw against Servette FC. The defending champions went ahead through Richard Nuñez in the 22nd minute but Paolo Diogo equalised for Servette just before the half-time interval.

Xamax and Young Boys win
Third-placed Neuchatel Xamax defeated FC Thun 1-0 thanks to Mobulu M'Futi's fifth-minute goal following a mistake in the Thun defence. BSC Young Boys won 2-1 against FC Zürich. Alain Rochat put Young Boys ahead on 26 minutes and Artur Petrosyan made it 2-0 in the 40th minute. Daniel Tarone scored Zürich’s consolation on 77 minutes.
