Benjamin Mwaruwari scored twice as AJ Auxerre secured a 3-1 home win against CS Sedan-Ardennes in Ligue 1.

Replayed game
The match was first played in September and ended with the same result, but the French Football Federation (FFF) ordered the match to be replayed.

Sedan setback
The home side were in control throughout, and took the lead after 32 minutes when Olivier Kapo created the chance for Mwaruwari, who scored comfortably. However, Sedan, struggling against relegation from the top flight, came back strongly after half-time and drew level on the hour through Pius N'Diefi.

Decisive late goals
The score remained 1-1 moving into the final stages, but just as it seemed Sedan might gain a much-needed point, Mwaruwari restored the home side's lead with six minutes remaining, before substitute Djibril Cissé added a third in added time.

European challenge
The result lifted Auxerre into sixth place in the table and kept their challenge for a European place alive, while Sedan remained second from bottom with six games left to play. The FFF ordered the original fixture, which was played on 21 September, to be replayed after a refereeing error.

Refereeing error
Sedan, who had been trailing 1-0, scored a 75th-minute equaliser, but the referee allowed Auzerre to restart the match while two Sedan players were still in the home side's half of the pitch. Auxerre immediately made it 2-1 and went on to win 3-1. Sedan lodged a protest and it was eventually decided that the match would be played again.
