Rosenborg BK extended their lead at the top of the table with a 3-1 victory at home to second-placed Sogndal IL.

Rosenborg BK extended their advantage at the top of the Tippeligaen to five points with a 3-1 victory at home to second-placed Sogndal IL.

Early setback
Despite the final comfortable margin of the win, Rosenborg were forced to worked hard against well-organised opponents, who took the lead after 20 minutes and had chances to extend their advantage.

Quick turnaround
The home side held on, and drew level shortly before half-time as Azar Karadas shot into the net from 16 metres, and Vidar Riseth headed in a corner early in the second period to put the home side in front. Harald Brattbakk added a third 12 minutes from time to seal Rosenborg's victory.

Comfortable win
Third-placed Odds BK also lost ground at the top, as SK Brann earned a comfortable 3-0 victory. In an impressive display from the home team, Petter Furuseth Olsen opened the scoring after just three minutes, before Nigerian international midfield player Seyi Olofinjana doubled the advantage midway through the first half, and the same player sealed Brann's first league win of the season early in the second period, heading a third.

Derby draw
Newly-promoted Aalesund FK remained bottom and are still searching for their first league win of the season but earned a creditable 1-1 draw at home to Viking FK, while the local derby between Vålerenga Fotball and Lillestrøm SK ended 1-1, with the home side taking the lead in the 20th minute as Raijo Piiroja headed Kjetil Rekdal's corner into the net, but a well-struck volley from Pål Strand midway through the second half gave Lillestrøm a draw.

Away win
Elsewhere another derby, between Tromsø IL and FK Bodø/Glimt ended 3-3, with Stig Johansen scoring twice for the away side, while Molde FK slipped to a 3-0 defeat at Bryne FK and SFK Lyn were 3-1 winners away to Stabæk IF.
