Bulgaria round-up: CSKA finally regain title

PFC CSKA Sofia have won the A PFG title for the first time in six years following a 2-0 win.

PFC CSKA Sofia were crowned Bulgarian A PFG champions for the 29th time in their history after a 2-0 win against PFC Botev Plovdiv.

Unassailable lead
The victory meant CSKA secured an unassailable nine-point lead at the top of the table with just two games to go and ended a six-year wait for the title.

Brito decider
South African international MacDonald Mukasi opened the scoring just past the half hour mark when he broke free of the Botev's defense and prodded past goalkeeper Lilcho Arsov. João Paulo Brito delicate chip in the second half proved to be the decisive goal.

Levski blow
Second-placed PFC Levski Sofia, meanwhile, lost 2-1 away to PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv. Martin Kamburov gave the home side the lead after three minutes and, although Todor Kolev equalised, Doncho Donev struck the winner with eight minutes to go.

UEFA Cup chance
Third-placed PFC Litex Lovech, meanwhile, are only a win away from a UEFA Cup spot through following a 2-1 win defeat of PFC Lokomotiv Sofia. Defenders Nikolay Dimitrov and Zhivko Zhelev collected a goal in each half for Litex, while Boyko Velichkov struck a consolation late on.

Vladimirov decisive
PFC Slavia Sofia overcame PFC Dobrudzha Dobrich 2-1 away. Blagoy Georgiev converted a penalty for Slavia just before the break, but Atanas Georgiev drew Dobrudzha level soon after the restart. Georgi Vladimirov's effort four minutes from time gave Slavia the points.

Brave comeback
PFC Cherno More Varna ran out 3-1 winners away against PFC Rilski Sportist Samokov despite going behind to Vasil Kirov's penalty. Vladimir Gerasimov, Adalbert Zafirov and Slavi Zhekov turned the match on its head.

Improbable win
PFC Marek Dupnitsa overcame PFC Chernomorets Burgas 3-2 away. Petar Kyumyurdzhiev's own goal gave Marek the lead with only two minutes gone, but Georgi Kaloyanov and Ivan Georgiev made it 2-1 for the home side by the break before Lyuben Lyuben scored twice in injury time to clinch an improbable victory. Elsewhere, a Neno Nenov goal proved enough for PFC Spartak Varna to defeat PFC Naftex Burgas 1-0 at home.
