Brane Oblak has been sacked as coach of 1. Liga side NK Olimpija Ljubljana.

Poor run of form
Oblak was dimissed following a succession of poor results which have severely damaged Olimpija's hopes of challenging for a European place. The team have not won any of their last four league games, and Oblak was informed of the decision following a 1-1 draw at home to NK Šmartno on Friday.

Hopes fade
The draw left Olimpija in third place in the standings with 48 points from 27 games, six points behind leaders NK Publikum and a point adrift of NK Maribor.

Beširevic takes charge
Suad Beširevic, who was previously in charge of city rivals NK Ljubljana, will take over as coach until the end of the season. The Bosnian coach will be replaced at Ljubljana by assistant coach Dinko Vrabac, who will also be in charge until the end of the current campaign.
