Rosenborg BK set a new Norwegian record by notching their seventh successive win.

Rosenborg BK set a new Norwegian record by notching their seventh successive win as they overcame Odds BK 3-2 in an astonishing game at the weekend.

Maximum points
No Norwegian side had ever before won seven Tippeligaen games in a row. In doing so, the reigning champions ensured they now have a maximum 21 points from the first seven rounds of the season and are already seven points clear at the top of the table.

Remarkable feat
Even more remarkably, Rosenborg won the match having trailed Odds 2-0 midway through the first half after Espen Hoff and Christian Flindt Bjerg gave the home team a healthy advantage. However Fredrik Winsnes reduced the deficit on the stroke of half- time and thereafter Rosenborg surged forward.

Frantic action
On 62 minutes Frode Johnsen equalised and as the clock ran down the action became frantic. Odds defender Ronny Deila headed into his own net in injury time to put Rosenborg ahead and to rub salt in the home side's wounds they also missed a penalty in the dying seconds. "Odds played well today, but we have more to go on and I feel we are in a postive spiral," said Rosenborg coach Åge Hareide after the match.

Sogndal drop points
Elsewhere, Rosenborg's nearest challengers Sogndal IL dropped two points at home to Aalesund FK as the sides drew 1-1. Sogndal dominated the first half and took the lead through veteran striker Håvard Flo just before the half-hour mark but Aalesund fought back after the break and Tor Hogne Aarøy found an equaliser.

Berg inspiration
New coach Odd Berg inspired Molde FK to a 2-1-win at home against Tromsø IL. Berg took over after Swedish coach Gunder Bengtsson left the club by "mutual consent" last week. Meanwhile SFK Lyn and Viking FK shared six goals at the Ullevaal stadium in Oslo in an entertaining match. Lyn carved out a two-goal lead after just 16 minutes, but the visitors fought back to lead 3-2. The home team earned a deserved point when Ole Bjørn Sundgot equalised in injury time.

Stabæk win
On Monday Stabæk IF beat Bryne FK 2-1. After a goalless first half Samir Fazlagic gave Stabæk the lead in the 58th minute. Eight minutes later Thomas Finstad was brought down by Dejan Pavlovic in the penalty box and Christan Holther scored from the spot to extend the advantage. Bryne pulled a goal back thanks to substitute Dag Frode Hornseth.
