Eintracht Frankfurt forward Jermaine Jones has agreed a deal to join struggling Bayer 04 Leverkusen, although he may not move until July next year.
Could 'stay another year'
Jones, a German Under-21 international, will join Leverkusen this summer if Eintracht fail to secure promotion to the Bundesliga for an agreed fee of €2m. However, if Eintracht are promoted then the 22-year-old striker will "stay in Frankfurt for another year" before moving to the BayArena next summer.
Three-year deal
"On Sunday we agreed terms and I signed for three years with Leverkusen," said Jones. With two matches remaining, Eintracht are fourth in the second division, level on points with SpVgg Greuther Fürth, who occupy the third promotion place, and 1. FSV Mainz 05, who are fifth. Leverkusen, meanwhile, occupy the third relegation place in the Bundesliga.
