Article body
A late goal from Blaz Puc kept alive NK Olimpija's hopes of lifting the Slovenian Cup as it earned his side a 1-1 draw with NK Publikum in last night's final first leg.
Puc equaliser
Puc struck in the 89th minute, beating goalkeeper Antonio Fornezzia with a shot from 15 metres following Nedim Jusufbegovic's cross. The goal cancelled out Andrej Kvas's penalty for the visitors after 38 minutes.
Bright start
Kvas converted the spot-kick after a foul on Darko Maletic. Before falling behind, Olimpija had begun brightly and striker Marko Kmetec missed several chances to score.
Pušnik disappointed
Publikum coach Marijan Pušnik said: "This was our poorest performance this season. We have to improve significantly for the return match at home next week." The second leg will be played next Wednesday in Celje.
