Coach Emilio Ferrera had no hesitation in signing the player, who can play in the centre as well as his usual right-back position. He had attracted attention from clubs in France, England, Portugal and even Japan but chose to stay in Belgium. Crasson said: "I had a great time at Anderlecht and was sad to leave. I had many offers but preferred to stay in Belgium because we have young children who are starting school."
Popular player
Crasson was a popular figure at the Constant Vanden Stock stadium because of his Brussels roots. The 31-year-old played 287 league and cup games for Anderlecht, plus 72 matches in European competition, since he first joined them in 1990. He also had a two-year spell in Italy with SSC Napoli in the mid-90s.
New man
Meanwhile, Lierse have announced that Gaston Peeters will replace Herman Van Holsbeeck as club manager. Peeters' last position was a similar role at KFC Lommelse SK, who made history in Belgian football by becoming the first top-flight club to go into liquidation.
