Replaces Motyka
The 46-year-old Mikulski replaces Marek Motyka, who was sacked last week following a 5-0 defeat at Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski. The former KS Ruch Chorzów and KP Polonia Warszawa trainer stepped in ahead of the 1-1 draw with Legia Warszawa at the weekend.
Second post this season
Mikulski started the campaign as coach of Pogon Szczecin and so, according to Polish football regulations, cannot take another coach's job this season. As a result, his official title is assistant coach to Miroslaw Stadler, although Mikulski will have the final say on team matters.
Relegation fight
Garbarnia, who were promoted to the Ekstraklasa last summer after a play-off victory over RKS Radomsko, are 13th in the table with two matches to play, level on points with Ruch who occupy the final relegation place. With Pogon and KSZO Ostrowiec already relegated, Garbarnia need to finish above Ruch to secure a place in the promotion/relegation play-off.
