FK Željezničar gained immediate revenge by beating FK Leotar, the newly-crowned league champions, in the Bosnia-Herzegovnian Cup final.
Leotar denied
Željezničar comfortably won the second leg 2-0, after the first leg had finished 0-0, to deny Leotar the Cup and league 'double'. Leotar had claimed their first league title on a dramatic final day of the season after Željezničar were beaten at NK Široki Brijeg.
Early breakthrough
However, Željezničar shrugged off that disappointment to win the Cup with an assured second-leg display. Željezničar scored with the game's first attack when Mirza Mesić headed into the net. On the half-hour mark they found a crucial second goal when Almir Gredić converted from the penalty spot after Mesić was fouled. It was Željezničar's third Cup win after previous victories in 2000 and 2001.
