PFC Levski Sofia coach Georgi Todorov has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
Fully committed
Todorov was appointed in the middle of March after Levski parted company with Slavoljub Muslin. Todorov, who had previously been caretaker and assistant coach at Levski on a number of occasions, left his position as coach of the Bulgaria Under-18 to commit himself fully to Levski’s cause.
Cup success
Despite the fact that Levski's challenge for the A PFG has all but ended, as they trail leaders PFC CSKA Sofia by six points which just four matches remaining, the club have again reached the BFS Cup final, where they will meet PFC Litex Lovech on 21 May in Sofia. Levski, the cup holders, earned their place in the final with a 0-0 draw against CSKA hours after Todorov had signed his new contract, which secured a 1-0 aggregate triumph.
Promising future
This success means the club can look forward to the future with some optimism. "In the new season, our transfer budget will be the biggest in Bulgaria," said club director Todor Batkov. "Two or three classy players will join the team, while many of the foreign players will be sold."
