Article body
A spectacular long-range goal from Hayk Harutyunyan lit up the 1-1 draw between the Armenian Premier League's top two, FC Kotayk and FC Pyunik, on Saturday.
Rising son
Noticing Pyunik goalkeeper Apulla Bete off his line, Harutyunyan lobbed him from the centre-circle to give the home side and league leaders a 69th-minute advantage over the champions. But an injury-time goal from 17-year-old Edgar Manucharyan, the son of the club president, rescued a draw for Pyunik, who slipped to third.
Barikyan seals it
FC Shirak moved into second place with a 2-1 away win against FC Lernagorts. Shirak’s Karen Aleksanyan opened the scoring inside eleven minutes but had to wait until midway through the second half for Andranik Barikyan's winner after Alen Movsisyan had levelled the scores just before half-time.
Late comeback
Elsewhere, FC Dinamo-2000 Yerevan came from two goals down to beat FC MIKA 3-2. Aram Voskanyan coverted a penalty on the hour and Marat Mkrtchyan doubled MIKA's lead on 75 minutes but Dinamo then took the initiative, Hrachya Mikaelyan scoring twice in five minutes and Artur Petrosyan scored the winner with three minutes remaining.
Banants win at last
In the day's other game, FC Banants recorded their first win of the season, defeating FC Araks 2-0 thanks to goals from Aram Hakobyan and Aram Sragsyan.
