The race for the Swiss Nationalliga A title will be go down to the final set of fixtures next weekend after top two Grasshopper-Club and FC Basel both posted impressive wins.
Shock lead
Grasshoppers, who lead title-holders Basel by a single point, bounced back from their costly draw with FC Zürich in midweek by beating FC Wil 1900 4-2. Wil, who face possible demotion due to their financial situation, took the lead on nine minutes through Bruno Sutter, and seemed to be heading for a shock victory when the same player made it 2-0 seven minutes into the second half.
Nuñez hat-trick
Early goals
Basel managed four goals without reply at Servette FC. Murat Yakin, Julio Hernán Rossi and Christian Giménez ended the game as a contest with goals in the first 22 minutes, and Giménez scored a fourth early in the second half.
Xamax in third
Neuchâtel Xamax FC secured third place with a 2-0 win at home to Zürich, Miguel Portillo and Augustine Simo scoring either side of the break. FC Thun gained a 4-1 victory against BSC Young Boys, who are now fourth and still need a point to ensure a UEFA Cup place ahead of Servette.
