Resounding victory
MyPa were comfortable 4-0 winners against FC Jazz, with full-back Toni Huttunen opening the scoring after 35 minutes with a powerful shot. Further goals from Saku Puhakainen, Ryan Botha and Tero Taipale sealed an easy home victory.
First-half dominance
TPS led FC KooTeePee 4-0 at half-time and, despite two late goals, the away side were unable to find a way back into the match. Meanwhile, reigning champions HJK Helsinki won 1-0 at FC Haka, with HJK central defender Antti Heinola heading the only goal of the match in the dying seconds of the first half.
Convincing win
FC Jokerit were convincing 4-0 victors against visitors FC Inter Turku, with Estonian Konstantin Nahk scoring twice, and Toni Koskela and Peke Huuhtanen – in his first ever league match – once each. Elsewhere, the games between FC Hämeenlinna and FF Jaro and KuPS Kuopio and FC Lahti both ended 1-1.
Second defeat
Finally, on Monday night, Tampere United FC were left second from bottom after suffering their second defeat of the season. They lost 3-1 away at AC Allianssi after Risto Ojanen and Adriano put the home side 2-0 up in the first 30 minutes. Noah Hickey clawed one back for the visitors nine minutes after the restart but an own-goal from Jussi Kuoppala settled the match.
