Swedish international Marcus Lantz has committed himself to FC Hansa Rostock until 2005 after signing a new two-year contract.
Arrived from Italy
The club confirmed today that the 27-year-old midfield player had no desire to quit the Bundesliga despite becoming a free agent following the completion of his previous contract. Lantz joined the club in 1999 from Italian side Torino Calcio and has since become an integral part of the team.
Sweden squad
Lantz played 28 matches this season, scoring once as Hansa finished 13th in the 18-team German top flight. One of six Swedes at the Ostseestadion, Lantz was yesterday named in the Sweden squad for the UEFA EURO 2004™ Group 4 qualifying matches against San Marino on 7 June and Poland four days later.
