Junior roles
The 38-year-old former FC Kairat Almaty and Kaisar striker has been appointed as head coach of the club following a 19-year playing career which saw him score 136 goals in the Soviet Union and Kazakh leagues. Before returning to Kaisar as head coach he had been working in junior coaching posts at other sides.
Coaching debut
This is Turmagambetov's first senior coaching position, but his place in Kazakh football history is already assured after his debut appearance for Kaisar in 1981 at the age of 15 saw him become the youngest player in Kazakh football history. He subsequently played for the Soviet Under-19 team in 1984.
Poor results
Turmagambetov's appointment follows the dismissal of Esmagambetov on Saturday following a poor run of performances for Kaisar. The 35-year-old coach had taken charge of Kaisar at the start of the season, straight after leaving the Moscow Higher Coaching School. He had previously been in charge of FC Yelimai Semipalatinsk.
