The De Graafschap general manager Jacco Swart is to leave the club at the end of the season.

The De Graafschap general manager Jacco Swart has announced he will leave the club at the end of the Dutch league season.

Conflict over dismissal
Swart has been in conflict with the board over the dismissal of the technical manager Gerard Marsman in April and it has forced his decision to leave the club that are bottom of the Eredivisie. “The directors decided that Gerard had to leave, but I did not agree," the 35-year-old Swart said. "Because of my role I was the one who had to fire him. I thought that was not necessary, because he did a good job.

Reluctant departure
“But I will leave this club with pain in my heart. I have had mostly good times in the four years I have worked here,” Swart, who used to work for the Royal Netherlands Football Association, said. “It was a business conflict, and not a personal conflict, we will not part in a fighting atmosphere.”
