Visitors FC Dinaburg held Ventspils 0-0 to end their four-game winning start. Ventspils had goalkeeper Andris Vanin sent off for a professional foul in the 61st minute, but were still able to keep a clean sheet.

Skonto in touch
Champions FC Skonto moved to within two points of Ventspils with a 2-0 win against newly pomoted RKB-Arma Riga. Vladimir Kolesnichenko put Skonto ahead on 39 minutes from the penalty spot, and his fellow Latvian international Maris Verpakovskis clinched victory with eleven minutes remaining to leave RKB-Arma still searching for their first point and goal.

Metalurgs victorious
FHK Liepajas Metalurgs emerged from their first home game this season with a 4-2 win against FK Gauja in a match postponed from last month. Gauja led 2-1 at the break with goals from Janis Zuevs and Vadims Mikuckij sandwiching an effort from Girts Karlsons. However, by Edvinas Lukashavichus levelled the scores on 63 minutes and within 60 seasons Viktors Dobrecovs put the home team ahead, the same player scoring a penalty in added time. Metalurgs now lie third.
