Welcome additions
Since replacing John Lambie as boss last month, Collins has seen four players leave Partick on free transfers. Alan Archibald and Scott Paterson joined Dundee United FC, while Alex Burns and Stephen Craigan departed for Motherwell FC. However, Collins has reacted by securing midfield players McBride, 24, and Panther, 19, on one-year deals from first division St Johnstone.
Homeward bound
Both players were out of contract, and the Glasgow-born Panther said he was "delighted to be joining my local team" and to have "a chance to play in the Premier League". He added: "I have been impressed with Gerry Collins and am sure we will stay up next season." Partick's third midfield reinforcement is Stuart Taylor, who arrived from Falkirk FC in May, also on a 12-month deal.
